Luther was born about 1905. He is the son of Adam Garner and Beatrice Smith. In 1910, the family was living in Hancock County, Georgia.[1] By 1920, the family had moved to Sandersville, Washington, Georgia.[2] In 1930, Luther was still living with his mother and siblings in Sandersville.[3]
