Biography

Rosalie Valeska Gass was born on 5 July 1893 at Mannum, South Australia. She was the daughter of Wilhelm Gass and Louisa Elisabeth (Gluschewski) Gass.^[1]

Her younger sister Juliana's birthday also fell on 5 July, and apparently a decision was taken very early on to celebrate Rosalie's birthday on 4 July so that two little girls could have their own individual parties on separate days.^[2]

On 21 April 1910, Rosalie married Frederick Charles Schuetze at the residence of the groom's mother at Younghusband, South Australia.^[3]

Rosalie and Frederick had al least two children:

• Eileen Rosalie SCHUETZE born 27/7/1910; and
• Lionel Fredrich SCHUETZE born 4/5/1916.

Rosalie died on 8 September 1974.^[4]

She died in Fitzroy Terrace, Fitzroy, South Australia in St George?s Nursing Home. Fitzroy Terrace has a name change as it enters Medindie, and becomes Robe Terrace.^[5] Rosalie is buried at the Enfield Memorial Park Cemetery, South Australia.^[6]
