Joel Geaves was born in Hertfordshire, England.

Joel Benjamin Geaves was born on 19 Dec 1876 in Sandon, Hertfordshire. Joel was registered as Benjamin Joel Geaves but was known as Joel for all of his life. Joel was baptised on 11 Feb 1877 in Buckland, Hertfordshire.^[1][2]. He is the son of John Geaves and Sarah Hatchett.

In the 1881 Census Joel was living at Chipping, Buckland, Royston, Hertfordshire ^[3]

In the 1891 Census Joel was living at Wakely, Westmill, Royston, Hertfordshire. ^[4]

Joel served in the British Army in World War I in the 1st Infantry Works Company, Bedford Depot, 10th Battalion, service number 28058. ^[5]

In the 1939 register Joel (age 62), Night Watchman, was single on The Garden Elm Farm Lane, High Barnet, Potters Bar U.D., Middlesex, England.^[6]

Joel passed away aged 72 in Q2 1949 in Edmonton, Middlesex ^[7]
