The Argus Melbourne Fri 22 Aug 1941 > Personal Notices > PTE G D GEBERT third son of Mr and Mrs O A Gebert of Hazeldene Estate Rainbow has been located as a prisoner of war by the Apostolic Delegation Prisoners of War Bureau. He was reported missing on May 12. Pte Gebert, who is 29, embarked for overseas in Dec 1940. Also see TROVE The Age Sat 30 Aug 1941 re war camp in Italy. He was educated at the Church of England Grammar School, Ballarat. Prior to enlisting in 1940, and sailing in Dec 1940 he had an interest in grazing property at Merrinee.
