MRS. LYDIA HOLBEN DIES AT AGE OF EIGHTY YEARS

Aged Woman, Mother of County Treasurer, Succumbed Thursday Burial Today 1923

Mrs. Lydia Holben, of Ringgold, widow of the late E. A, Holben, died Thursday morning, September 13, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Irvin Miller, of Pierce, Armstrong county, aged about 80 years. The deceased was the mother of County Treasurer E. M. Holben and of Mrs. Albert Johns and Mrs. Clarence Gourley, of West End, Punxsutawney.

Mrs. Holben, who was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church, was a woman of the highest type mentally and spiritually and all who knew her admired and respected her.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 3 o'clock at Rincgold where burial was made.

NECROLOGY - MRS. LYDIA HOLBEN

Mrs. Lydia Holben died Wednesday, September 12, at Pierce after an illness of four days. She was born in Ringgold township, March 5, 1844, and was married to Elias Holben, of Ringgold.

Mrs. Holben is survived by all of her eight children: J. M., W. H., C. M., of Ringgold; E. A., of Frostburg; County Treasurer Earle M., of Brookville; Mrs. A. W. Johns, Mrs. C. O. Gourley, of Punxsutawney, and Mrs. W. E. Miller, of Pierce.

Mrs. Holben was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Funeral services were held at Ringgold by Rev. Samuel Alleman.
