Biography

Verena was born about 1648. She passed away in 1728. ^{[1] [2]} Upon the death of her father, Thomas Geißer in 1672, she and her husband inherited the farm currently known as the Henslerhof. ^[3] The name is probably attributed to her husband, Hans Hensler. The farmhouse was built about 1562 and remained in the Hensler family for about 300 years. ^[4] The property was sold in 1981 since it needed costly refurbishment that the family could not finance. Finally in 1990 the Office for the Protection of Monuments took on the project and it is now an events venue. ^[5] Out of the original 49 hectares of land that belonged to the Henslerhof only 15 remain with the property. ^[6]
