Biography
Elder James Gholson was born in 1806 in Scott, Kentucky, to his father, John Gholson and his mother,Tabitha Tinsley (1787-1856). He married Mary Polly Hudson on March 5, 1825, in White, Illinois. They had nine children in 22 years. He died in Wisconsin in April 1850 at the age of 44, and was buried in Nora, Illinois.
