Biography

Nora (Gilbey) Westgarth was born in County Durham, England.

Nora was born in Bishop Auckland, Durham, England, on May 10, 1908. ^[1] She was the daughter of John William Gilbey and Edith Maude (Unknown). She was baptized on May 27, 1908, in West Auckland.^[2] She was enumerated in the 1911 census^[3] as a three year old, and one of three children, residing with her parents in Hamsterley (Registration District Auckland).

Nora married Thomas Newton Westgarth in 1928.^[4] The marriage was registered in the fourth quarter in Auckland. The couple would have at least three children, Allan, 1929, Clive, 1930, and Olwen, 1934.

Nora passed away in 1947. ^[5] Her death was registered in the first quarter in Durham Western.
