Donald Emerson Gillies married Alma Emily Henderson. Children Valerie and David Gibson Sept 18, 1971. Grandchildren Donald Samuel (b. March 26, 1974) and Julie Frances (b. June 17, 1976).
OBITUARY: Gillies -- Donald. (1997) At Kincardine and District Hospital on Tuesday, July 29, 1997 in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of Alma Gillies (Henderson) of Ripley. Dear father of Valerie and husband David Gibson of London. Dearly loved by two grandchildren, Dan Gibson and Julie Gibson, both of London. Visitation at MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Ripley, Thursday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00. Funeral services from the chapel Friday at 1:30 p.m. Interment Ripley Cemetery. Donations to Knox Presbyterian, Ripley, or the Kincardine Hospital would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
