Biography

Ann (Gillies) McCallum was born in Scotland.

Ann was born about 1834.

In the 1851 Scotland Census she is a scholar at Tayintrath. By 1861 she is married and living at Dalnahasaig. Then in 1871 she had moved with her husband to Barnakill. They had 10 children between 1856 and 1875.

She passed away on 28 Feb 1877 aged 40. Her husband died 18 Mar 1877 aged 50. Both deaths were from peritonitis.

Research Notes

The register of Ann's death and her husband's both show residences as "Glaicochonie". This has not appeared on any maps at 19 October 2022.
