Hermine Girard naquît en 1822 à Saint-Marie-de-Monnoir (auj. Marieville), Bas-Canada, de Louis Girard et d'Élizabeth Guyon (ou Dion) dite Dutilly. Elle fut baptisée dans l'église St-Nom-de-Jésus.[1]
Le recensement de 1861 trouve Hermine et Cyrille à Weedon, exploitant une ferme, avec 10 enfants (les deux ou trois plus jeunes, connus lors du recensement de 1871, manquent au celui de 1861).[3] Par 1871, ils avaient eu 14 enfants.[4]
Cyrille décéda en 1890. Au recencensement de 1891, Hermine vivait dans la maison de son fils Pierre.[5] Elle y vivait encore en 1901.[6]
Hermine décéda à Saint-Gerard (Weedon) en 1909 à 86 ans.[7]
Biography
Hermine Girard was born in 1822 in Saint-Marie-de-Monnoir (now Marieville), Lower Canada, to Louis Girard and Élizabeth Guyon (or Dion) called Dutilly. She was baptized in the church of Saint-Nom-de-Jésus (the Holy Name of Jesus).[1]
The 1861 census finds Hermine and Cyrille in Weedon, farming, with 10 children (the two or three youngest, known from the 1871 census, are missing in the 1861 census).[3] By 1871, they had had 14 children.[4]
Cyrille died in 1890. In the 1891 census, Hermine lived in the house of her son Pierre.[5] She still lived there in 1901.[6]
Hermine died in Saint-Gerard (Weedon) in 1909, 86 years old.[7]
