"Glenn A. Girton, 92, of Zanesville, died at 3:55 P.M. Friday, January 1, 2016 at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville. He was born July 12, 1923, in Zanesville, a son of the late Clarence Andrew and Flora Viola Williams Girton. He retired from Rexnord, was a member of Cornerstone South Family Life Church, a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II where he was awarded the Purple Heart and was inducted into the Muskingum County Veterans Hall of Fame. Glenn also was a member of the VFW George Selsam Post 1058, American Legion and a volunteer at Genesis Hospital.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ava I. Girton, who died April 9, 1995; brothers, Art, Elmer, Walt, Harry, George and Clarence Girton and a sister Della Harlan.
He will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery beside his beloved wife Ava with full military honors being presented by the United States Army in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058 and the American Legion Post 29."[1]
