In the 1901 census, The family are living within Halifax district 33. The household comprises of father William Glancy , it says he was born in 1870, it says he was a Labourer but there are 2 other unreadable words in the profession column. It says he has been employed in a factory for 6 months and is earning $175 Canadian dollars. That he can speak English but not read or write. His Wife Ellen is recorded as being able to read, write and speak English and her date of birth looks like March (or May) 10th 1868. They also have 3 children, Annie born 26th of April 1895, Charles born the 4th of September 1890 which difference from his death certificate and Sadie born 29th December 1897. Th census says Charles can read, write and speak English but Annie and Sadie can only speak in English and indicates that Charles has been attending school for 9 months. ^[1]

Wiliam J Glancey's death certificate states that he died on the 22nd of March 1922 at Halifax and he was born oin the 10th of February 1868, he was retired but his previous occupation was teamster. His cause of death cannot be easily read. The certificate states that his father was John Glancey born Ireland and mother Sophia Curry born Mitford, Halifax. His death was certificated by his wife Ellen of 560 Kemp Road and hw wa sburied at Mount Olivet Cemetary. ^[2]

William's burial is recorded on the Mount Olivert internment search, he was buried on the 24th of March 1942, aged 74, his job was Teamster, he was a resident of Halifax and is buried in Section: 3, Plot: K, Grave: 96. ^[3]
