Biography
Jacob Glass was baptised on 17 Nov 1816 at Cliffe Pypard, Wiltshire, son of Charles and Hannah of Thornhill Manor.[1]
Jacob Glass of full age, bachelor, Sawyer of Buthay, Wootton Bassett, and Caroline Leighfield of full age, spinster, Labourer of the Brickyard, were married on 10 Oct 1838 at Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire. Their fathers were Charles Glass, Sawyer and Thomas Leighfield, Labourer.[2]
It is presumed he was the Jacob Glass of the Union Workhouse, Purton, Wiltshire, who was buried on 22 Feb 1884 at Clyffe Pypard Wiltshire. His age was recorded as 77 but presumably this was an error.[3]

1851: Jacob Glass resident at Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire, age 34, Sawyer, born Clyffe Pypard, married to Caroline.[5]
1861: Jacob Glass resident at Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire, age 45, Sawyer, born Clyffe Pypard, married to Caroline.[6]
1881: Jacob Glass resident at Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire, age 66, Agricultural Labourer, born Clyffe Pypard, Widower.[7]
