GLEESON — STEPHENS
WEDDING AT NORWOOD
On Tuesday, October 31, at 2 p.m. in St. Ignatius' Church, Norwood the marriage of Margaret Stephens, former Bowillia school teacher, to Leo M., youngest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. W. J. Gleeson, of Mt. Templeton, was celebrated. Rev. Fr. P. Carolan officiated.
The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a long ivory satin gown, the skirt of which merged into a train. She carried a sheaf of white and pink flowers, and the beautiful tulle veil was lent by Mrs. S. Hallam.
Mrs. Hallam, matron of honor, was frocked in pink floral georg-ette trimmed with pink val lace. She wore matching hat and gloves and carried a pink and blue sheaf.
An informal reception was afterwards held at the bride's home, where her mother entertained.
After staying at the South Australian Hotel, the couple travelled to Kangaroo Island for the Kingscote Show. [2]
Military Service
During World War II, Leo Michael Gleeson enlisted on 24 April 1942 and served with the Australian Army, 2/2nd Australian Casualty Clearing Station. He served in Australia and New Guinea. Leo was discharged from duty on 30 July 1945. [3][4]

Leo Michael Gleeson passed away 24 October 1992 at South Australia, Australia. [5]
