Biography
James Golden, son of Thomas & Sarah, was baptised on 31 October 1824 in Bowerchalke, Wiltshire, England.[1]
He enlisted in the Royal Navy at Yeovil, Somerset on 10 Oct 1846. He was described as 19y 5m old, born in Bower Chalke, Wilts., 5 feet 7 1/4 inches tall, and with brown hair, grey eyes, and a fair complexion. His former trade was as a labourer. He left on 1 Mar 1847. A note in the margin says “Dd Paid £20”.[2]

James Golden (age 34), son of Thomas Golden, married Marcia Mary Parsons on 24 December 1857 in Childe Okeford, Dorset, England.[4]
In 1862, he was one of three men accused of stealing and butchering a sheep from a field in Bower Chalke.
James Golden (age 74) died on 24 January 1899 and was buried on 28 January 1899 in Bowerchalke, Wiltshire, England.[5]
