Wolf Benjamin Zeev Shimon Goldschmidt-Kassel (old spelling: Goldschmidt-Cassel) Hebräisch/Hebrew: יהודה בנימן וואלף בן משה שמעון קאסיל הלוי (other known names: Wolf Goldschmidt, Jehuda Benjamin Wolf Kassel, Wolf Kassel Halevi ben Moshe Shimon Halevi) was born on 28 February 1658/1659[1] in Cassel (until 1926 officially Cassel since then Kassel), Landgrafschaft Hessen-Cassel, Heiliges Römisches Reich (Landgraviate of Hesse-Cassel, Holy Roman Empire).
He was the son of Simon Goldschmidt-Kassel and Gitel Yittele Traub.
