He was the son of John Goldsmith and Elizabeth Lake.
He married Helen Gold in 1922. [2] [3]
He passed away in 1971. [4]
Cecil enlisted in the Royal Navy on 3 Sep 1917. He served a HMS Pembroke, a shore-based naval barracks in Chatham Kent.

After the Navy, he enlisted with the Royal Artillery on 18 May 1921, and served in the Middle East, where he met and married his wife Helen.
