Biography

George Graham was the second son of William, Second Lord Graham and Helen Douglas [1][2]

He is said to have married Elizabeth Oliphant, and was ancestor of the Grahams of Callendar.[1]

He and his older brother William died at Flodden, 9 September 1513.[1]

Red Book of Scotland 2022 edition, volume 7 page 1063 states that George Graham of Callander was the husband of Elizabeth Oliphant.

Red book of Scotland , 2022 Edition, Volume 4 , page 877 under ‘ Graham of Callander’, also states that Elizabeth was the daughter of John Oliphant 2nd of Dron. Several Charters quoted in ‘ The Oliphants in Scotland, (Anderson 1879)’ show that John was the son of Thomas Oliphant, 1st of Dron e.g., page 22 Extract of charter of March 12, 1478.— and Johne Olifant the sone and aire of vmquhile Thomas Oliphant of the Drone.. Acta Dom. Aud. , p. 73. The book of Perth 1847 - ‘’Thomas Oliphant of Dron, L.2.- Thomas Oliphant of Dron is said to have been the second son of Sir John Oliphant of Aberdalgie, and younger brother of Laurence first Lord Oliphant. The Mercers of Innerpeffray from 1400 to 1513 by Fittis 1877 page 7 ‘’It is shewn by six Charters, all dated at Edinburgh on 15th June, 146S, and executed by Robert Mercer of Innerpeffray, that he thereby gave to Thomas Oliphant of Dron, second son of Sir John Oliphant of Aberdalgie, and brother of Laurence, first Lord Oliphant, the lands of Logan, lying within the lordship of Innerpeffray’’ and also same page- ‘’a Writ in the possession of the Murrays of Dollary dated 6th May, 1474, the Dollary lands are stated to have been redeemed by Patrick Murray, as assignee for the deceased Robert Mercer, from John Oliphant of Dron, son of Thomas, on payment of 260 merks.’’
