Biography
Antoine II was the son of Philibert de Gramont and Diane d'Andouins. He was firstly married to Louise de Roquelaure (daughter of Antoine de Roquelaure, Maréchal de France, and Catherine d'Ornezan) on 1 September 1601. He was secondly married to Claude de Montmorency (daughter of Louis de Montmorency and Charlotte-Catherine de Luxe) on 29 March 1618. Antoine III was at the siege of Laon in 1594 and at the battle of Fontaine-Française in 1595. He served King Louis XIII on several occasions against the Huguenots. He forced the Admirante de Castille to lift the siege of Bayonne in 1636. He was made Duc et Pair of King Louis XIV on 13 December 1643. He passed away on August 1644. [1]
