John Einar Ludvig Granlund was born on 25 Oct 1901 in Herrljunga parish in Älvsborgs län, Sweden as the son of tanner/garvare Ludvig Severus Granlund (1855-1935) and his wife Berta Maria Rylander (1875-1955).^[1][2][3][4]

On 17 Oct 1931, at the age of 29, John married Margit Ingalill (Lake) Granlund (1909-) (age 21) in Göteborgs domkyrkoförsamling, Göteborg och Bohus (Västra Götaland), Sweden (b 19 Dec 1909).^[3][4]

Their first born daughter, Elsie Margareta Granlund, was born on 13 Oct 1932 in Oscar parish in Stockholm, Sweden.^[5]

1. What was her original birth surname? This needs to be resolved. Could her name have been patronymic ... Johnsdotter, Einarsdotter, or Ludvigsdotter? Was he non-patronymic name Granlund? Answer: Her last name is Granlund, both according to all sources (censuses). Also, patromymics were not used this late in Sweden.
