Biography

Elizabeth Green, daughter of William Green and Lucy (Blackwell) Green was born in Virginia on 6 Mar 1783. Her family may or may not have moved to Kentucky by the time of her birth, but if they did, it was "Kentucky County", Virginia. This may be clarified by obtaining a source for this information.

Note: This individual may be the daughter of a different William Green.

Elizabeth obtained license to marry Isaiah Boone on 4 Feb 1804. Rather, Isaiah obtained license and permission from her father, William. The source is handwritten, probably by the clerk, and it is likely that the person who indexed this source incorrectly read the words "said county" as "wife Emily". Please review the source and share your interpretation.[1]

During the process of sorting out families of two William Greens who each married a Lucy, we find that several children were attached to William Green and Lucy (Williams) Green, he b. 1756]]. The second William is William Green, b. abt 1745. For now, let's call them William-45 and William-56. William-56 died in 1783. He had been married only four years, and his wife MAY have been with child at the time of his death. OR Elizabeth may be the daughter of William-45, who MAY have lost his wife Lucy in 1783, and MAY have married for his second wife, Elizabeth Crump, whose existence has not yet been ascertained. The fact that this marriage record mentioned "Emily" as mother to Elizabeth raises the question as to which of William's wives gave birth to Elizabeth. It should also be kept in mind that "Elizabeth Crump" is the maiden name of Lucy Blackwell's mother. My sense is that, particularly given Elizabeth's marriage in Henry county, Kentucky in 1804, that she is the daughter of William-45, and will re-attach her to him. If I'm wrong, other researchers know where to find her.
