Biography
Rose Priscilla Greenaway was born on 2 Sep 1888 in De Witt, Clinton, Iowa in the USA to parents Fred Greenaway and Rebecca (Arthur) Greenaway.[1]
In 1895, "Rosa" Greenaway was 6 and living in Clinton County, Iowa.[2]
On 6 Jun 1900, Rose, three siblings - William, Minnie (17), and Pearl and her parents Frederick (40) and Rebecca (43) were living at 251 Charles Street in Sycamore, DeKalb, Illinois. She and Pearl were attending school. Her father was listed as "alien" and working as a day laborer. Parents had been married for 19 years and been in the USA for 18.[3]
Pearl died when only aged 15-16, on 19 Feb 1905 in Sycamore, DeKalb, Illinois and was laid to rest at the Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore about 25 Feb 1905.[1]
Research Notes
Birth Certificate and/or Baptismal Record would be nice to have to substantiate full birth name. (The 1895 record showed her name as "Rosa" - not sure that was true.)
