Research Notes

  • using find a grave birth info until better source found.
  • find a grave has middle initials as M. E. as does the death record.
  • family search profile: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/G393-W22
  • her father Ferdinand is thought to have been born in Herbshorst County, Elbing, Germany. Possible birth record?? [8]
    • may this be "Kerbshorst" in district Ober-Kerbswalde?
    • Mar 1836 fits at least to 1900 census
    • civil records in Ober-Kerbswalde only start in 1874, so they won't help, since they came over already in 1872
    • according to [1] #42, Neuheide, where this baptism is recorded, was the Protestant parish for Kerbshorst. I think there would be now enough information to start a profile about the father ... --Straub-620 11:55, 4 December 2022 (UTC)

Hi Carol-Lynn, I have a copy of the baptism record of Johann Ferdinand, in case you're interested. He was from Kerbshorst.

I would love to see it. Thank you so much for your help, I am a novice at German profiles. I made a profile for Johann Ferdinand Johann Ferdinand Griebnau. I hope that you can look it over and give any advice or corrections? Is it possible to link the baptism image to the profile?

I am related to Emma's husband and have no personal knowledge of this family.

Thanks again, Carol-Lynn.

I just sent it to you via direct email message.

Maybe add the pieces about "Herbshorst" to his profile as well and document, where you have that from and what makes you believe it's the same person. Apart from that profile looks good.
