MRS L. BELLISS. The many friends of Mrs Louisa Bellis will regret to learn of her death, which occurred in Masterton this morning after an illness extending over some months. Deceased, who was 82 years of age, came to New Zealand with her parents, the late Mr and Mrs John Groves, 75 years ago, in the sailing ship “New Era.” They went direct to Castlepoint after their arrival in Wellington. After some years’ residence in Castlepoint deceased removed to Tinui, where her marriage to Mr Bellis took place. For the past fourteen years the late Mrs Beilis had been a resident of Masterton. She was very popular among a wide circle of friends on the Coast and in Masterton, who will regret her death. A family of two sons, Messrs Percy Bellis (Castlepoint) and C. Bellis (Tinui), and one daughter, Miss Bellis (Pownall Street, Masterton), are left to mourn their loss.[3]
