Ebenezer Grummon was born on June 25, 1746 in Ridgefield, Fairfield, Connecticut Colony, son of Ebenezer Grummon (1720–1793) and Deborah Ellsworth (~1721–1793).[1]
He served as a private in Captain Pardee's Company of Colonel Samuel Drake's Regiment. He states served a tour at Fort Minute was located at Kornshook about two miles from 1770's New York City under the command of Captain Henry Dawson of Colonel Drake's Regiment. He speaks of the following hangings during the Revolution: James, a spy, and a deserter at Rudding, Connecticut; and, a spy named Paine at North Salem. His file contains depositions by Martin Mead and Joseph Benedict.[2]
Ebenezer died on June 4, 1835 in Jefferson, Schoharie, New York, United States, aged 88.[4]

In the name of God. Amen. I, Ebenezer Grummon of the town of Jefferson, County of Schoharie and State of New York being of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to God, calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hand of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my executor nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the manner following:
First. I give and bequeath to my sons (viz) Ebenezer, Samuel, and John Grummon each one dollar and to the heirs of Caleb Grummon one dollar and to each of my daughters Hannah Simon, Lovisa Shored and Ruth Davis each one dollar.
Also I give and bequeath to Joanna my dearly Beloved wife whom I likewise constitute make and ordain executrix with my friend Wm. B. Champlin of this my last will and Testament all my real and personal property by her to be possesed and enjoyed and I do heeby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all former wills and confirming this and no other to be my last will and Testament .
In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this thirty day of September in the year one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight.
