Biography
Identified as a minor at the time of her marriage in 1847, Julie, the daughter of François Xavier Guertin and Marguerite Bonenfant, was born around 1830 in Bas-Canada.
On 3 November 1847, she married Isaïe Fecteau in Verchères. The Saint-François-Xavier parish register states that the marriage was between "Isaie Fecteau journalier en cette paroisse, fils majeur de Jean-Baptiste Fecteau et de Josephte Langlois d'une part, et Julie Guertin fille mineure de feu François Xavier Guertin et de Marguerite Bonenfat de cette meme paroisse, aine que leur dite fille d'autre part . . . . en présence de Bruno Casavan témoin de l'époux et François Xavier témoin de l'épouse, qui [?] a su signer avec l'épouse. L'époux n'a su le faire." Signé par Julie Guertin et Xavier Robert."[1][2]
The family emigrated to the United States around 1870.
