Adolph Hahn lived in Ferrars St where Rachel by a live-in domestic. He was a 27 year old ex-sailor working for the Victorian Railways since 1883. Rachel, 15, married Adolph Hahn, 27 on 16 Jun 1885 with Elizabeth & William Fraser as witnesses.

Adolphs parents were Johann Andreas Franz Hahn and Dorothea von Harten. They were married 18 Mar 1855 (living at 23 Stern St, Hamburg, Germany). Johann Andreas Franz Hahn born in 1826 at St Pauli. Dorothea von Harten was born at Brobergen Church parish, Oldendorf.

Johann's parents were Reinhold Hahn& Anna Maria Helmers. They married in Hamburg, Germany. Dorothea's parents were Claus von Harten and Anna Schomaker.

Adolph was born 13 Aug 1858 (living at The Courtyard, 10 Antoni St, Hamburg, Germany).

Adolph left home around 12 apparently to avoid conscription in the Franco-Prussian War (1870-1871). He obtained a job on a merchant ship and ended up in Port Melbourne.

Sometime after 1888 he stated a butchering trade.

He was a gifted violinist and organist.

in 1895 he was transferred to Perth. He and Robert Watson Bains Johnson become close friends and lodged with them in Stone St, West Perth.

Around 1898 he bought a house on the corner of Olive & View St, North Perth and built a room at the top. The house became known as 'Hahn's tower house'.

Adolph died 14 Oct 1899 after suffering from pneumonia following the first attack of influenza.
