Biography

Job was a Friend (Quaker)

Job Haines was born in Maryland in 1837. He was the son of Quakers, Samuel Haines and Sarah Kinsey.

When Job was still a young boy, his family joined the Quaker migration to Ohio, probably in about 1845. They settled for a time in Milton, Miami County, Ohio before ultimately moving to Whitley County, Indiana some time between 1850 and 1860.

In about 1861, Job married Sarah Elizabeth Meadows. Job and Sarah had eight children, who were:

• Alonzo Haines (1862-1900), m. Delish Mae Vandyne;
• Charles L. Haines (1865-?);
• Leona M Haines (1867-1950), m. Charles Cramer;
• Sarah Ellen Haines (1870-1947), m. 1st Samuel McNutt, m. 2nd Cyrus Marion Wilson;
• Job Haines (1873-?);
• Ethel Haines (1876-1953), m. William L Tay;
• Samuel Haines (1879-?); and
• Freda Haines (1882-?).

Job died in Wabash, Indiana in 1915. He is buried at Falls Cemetery, Wabash, Indiana.
