Biography

The FindAGrave memorial appears to be in error, claiming Jacob invented barbed wire. Joseph Glidden is the inventor of this fencing product.

In the 1900 census, Jacob (age 73) was the married head of household in DeKalb, DeKalb, Illinois, United States.[4]

Jacob, son of Christian Haish & Christina Layman, died (age 99y 11m 10d) on 19 February 1926 in De Kalb, De Kalb, Illinois.[5]
