.
SPECULATION: I found a possible hit in the 1870 census for Cleveland Ohio, BUT it states that Robert and his wife Mary were both born in Ireland. Could Catherine have gotten it wrong in the death certificate?. 2 Citation: "United States Census, 1870," database with images, FamilySearch (https:/familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M6KL-2VY : 17 October 2014), Robert Hall, Ohio, United States; citing p. 42, family 350, NARA microfilm publication M593 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.); FHL microfilm 552,690.. 2 In the census the names Robert Hall, wife Mary, son John, and John's age at the time (4 years old) are all good evidence indicating that this may possibly be the correct information, however, it is insufficient by itself to accept as absolute proof. 2 N.B.: John's brother James, born 19 September 1863 (6 years old at the time), is not enumerated in this census, but absolutely should be. That omission is an obtrusive red flag that discredits this census record from being the correct one, especially when combined with the confusion over the birthplace of both parents. |
