Biography

Sam was born in 1897 in Montgomery County, North Carolina. He was the son of John P. Hall and Geneva Mullinix.

When he was 22 he married Nora Lee Burns in Cumnock, North Carolina. They had nine children, six boys, and three girls. Sam worked at a sawmill in Cumnock for a while and then became a North Carolina Forest Ranger.

He passed away in 1986 in Cumnock and was buried in Cumnock Community Cemetery.
