Biography

Kalle Halonen was born in Lapinlahti in December 1899. Antti began studying acting at the Finnish National Theater in Helsinki in autumn 1917, but the National War brought his acting studies to a halt. His cousins Antti and Pekka instructed Kalle in painting, and Kalle's career changed toward that of a painter starting with a winter painting excursion with his cousin Antti to Kinahmi in February 1923. Kalle then studied drawing at the Finnish Art Society's drawing school, in spring 1925. From 1929, Kalle lived again in Lapinlahti, using as an atelier a floor in the Tervola estate built by his brother Jussi. Traumatised after the war, Kalle died in Lapinlahti in February 1947.^[1]

Kalle Halonen was born in Lapinlahti on 6 Dec 1899 and died in Lapinlahti on 13 Feb 1947.^[2]
