Biography

Catherine Hammond, resident of Caherconlish, was born on or before 8 January 1860, this being the date she was baptised at Caherconlish, County Limerick, Ireland^[1]. Her parents were Patrick Hammond and Catherine Mulchahy.

On 9 February 1879, at Caherconlish, County Limerick, Ireland, Ned Horan married Kate Hammond^[2]. No civil registration of this marriage has been located.

In the 1901 Irish Census, Catherine Horan is recorded as residing in House 24 in Kilcullane. Her husband, Edmond, recorded as a farmer, is in the household with four of their children, and a farm servant^[3].

In the 1911 Irish Census, Kate Horan is recorded as residing at House 22 in Kilcullane. Her husband Edmond is recorded as a farmer, and also living with them are three of their children. Kate records that she and Edward have been married 28 years and that she has had seven children born alive of which six still live^[4].

On 30 May 1911, at Kilcullane Edmond Horan died^[5]. Mary Horan, daughter of Kilcullane, was the informant.

Research Notes

Checking irishgenealogy.ie only locates six births, including Catherine the one child deceased. Kate reports in the 1911 Census that she has had seven children born alive. Also I cannot locate any death notice for a Catherine/Kate Horan that fits.
