Biography
Marina was born on 2 March 1868 in Colebrooke, Devon. She was the daughter of William Handford and Sophia (Cole) Handford.[1] She was baptised on the same date as her two older siblings, John and Mary.
In the 1871 census she was with her family in Colebrooke, Devon.[2]
In the 1881 census the family had moves to Eston, Yorkshire.[3]
When Marina was 34 she married Arthur Hoyle in about March 1899 in Middlesbrough. The couple had one child: Squire Hoyle.
Research Notes
A Marina Handford married a John Turner in 1886 in Exeter (civil registration). This was probably the Marina Handford born in High Bickington in 1884.
