Biography
1760 - James HANDLEY (1760-1836) was born in 1760 in Monroe Co., VA to Archibald and Jean HENDERSON HANDLEY.
xx - Isabelle (hee unknown) married James HANDLEY
1795 (12 February) - According to her tombstone and Handley genealogy, Isabell HANDLEY was born in 1795 to James and Isabella (nee?) HANDLEY.
1817 (20 March) - 22 year old Isabel HANDLEY became the first wife of William and Susannah’s son Evan JENKINS.
Evan and Isabelle HANDLEY JENKINS had 5 children:
Archibald (died 1842), George, Robert ( 6 November 1802 to 6 January 1873) , Isabelle, Jane
1810 - The James and Isabella HANDLEY family moved to Butler County Ohio around 1810.
1832, aged 37, mother Isabelle Handley Jenkins died and was buried at the George Family Cemetery near Okeana, OH.
1836 - James HANDLEY died and was buried at the George Family Cemetery near Okeana, OH.
NOTE: Evan and Isabel’s daughter Isabella Jenkins married Alexander Harden DeArmond (son of King and Hannah (Harden) DeARMOND). Alexander and Isabella are mentioned in the 1915 biography of their son Evan Jackson DeARMOND (b 1855) in the History of Franklin County, Indiana.
Evan's second wife was Maria SHIELDS. Their children, I think, were
- James DeARMOND (b 1846; d 1865)
- King DeARMOND (d 1855).
(The two King DeARMONDs buried at the old George Family Burial Ground in 1855 are not Evan and Isabell (or Hannah)'s King. That cemetery is on South Dwyer Road, Northwest of Okeana from Rt 126 west onto Rt 250, north on South Dwyer Road, past Bittersweet Lane.)
Evan witnessed the will of Reuben George Sr.
Isabel passed away in 1832 in Okeana Ohio
