Biography

William Cleveland Hanry was born on 10 March 1886 in Union County, Arkansas and most likely in Tubal Township. He was a son of Samuel George Hanry and Lydia Britt Hanry.[1] [2]

As of the 1910 census Cleveland at 24 years of age continued to live at home with his parents, older sister Mary and younger twin sisters Alsie and Ada.[3]

On 19 June 1910 William Cleveland Hanry age 21 years married Anna Jolley also age 21 in Union County, Arkansas.[4]

Cleveland and Anna settled into farming in Garner Township and as of the 1920 census had added four children to their family. [5]

As of the 1930 census Cleveland had moved his family south back to Tubal Township, and had added another daughter to the family, Josephine age 10, born about 1920. [6]

As of the 1940 census Cleveland and Anna continued to live and farm in Tubal Township. All of their children had flown the nest except for Curtis now age 25 and who was likely providing much of the labor required to operate the farm.[7]

Cleveland died on 23 October 1964 and was buried in the Jolley Chapel Cemetery, Tubal Township, Union County, Arkansas.[1]
