Biography

Johannes Hansen is 27 and living at Hengsle, a smallholding under Helgeland, Hole with his wife and one daughter according to the census of 1801.^[1] His origin is not known. At the time of the baptism of Anders, they are living at Hetland Ejet.

At the time of the baptism of his son Hans in 1811 they are still living at Hengsle, but when Anders is born in 1814, they are registered at Hetland Eje. Married to Anne Gulbrandsdatter (abt. 1674).^[2] Known children:

• Marte Maria (bap. 16 Jan 1803, bur. 4 Dec 1805)^[3]
• Gjertrud (bap. 19 May 1805)^[4]
• Gulbrand (bap. 22 Nov 1807)^[5]

• I 1801 satt jordløs husmann Johannes Hansen (27) i Hengsle under Helgeland med hustru Anne Gulbrandsdatter (27) og en datter Kirsti (1). Anne Gulbrandsdatter var datter av husmann på Sjølyst på Storøya, Gulbrand Olsen (bror av Jørgen Olsen Bye) og Marthe Marie Nilsdatter (se bind 1 s. 285). Vi kjenner ytterligere to av barna til Anne og Johannes: Gjertrud (f. 1805) og Anders (f. 1814), som i 1865 var «avgiftsbruker» i Hagen under Vestre Rud med hustru Karen Hansdatter (41) og fire barn: Jørgine (15), Berte Marie (12), Hans (10) og Johan (2).^[8]
