Biography
Holger was born in 1834 at Kalstveit in Skjold, where his parents were tenant farmers for a few years.[1]
In 1861, he married Brita Kristina Kristensdotter Finshus, and from 1862, they lived at Haugen at Østenstad. Holger bought Haugen from Gudmund Gudmundson Lindanger in 1866.[2]

- Hans Andreas born 1865, migrated to USA
- Gjøri born 1867
- Kristen born 1869, lived at Østenstad
- Johannes born 1872, migrated to USA
- Anna Martine born 1874, married to Elias Olson Østenstad, migrated to USA and lived in Humboldt, Iowa
- Hanna Bertine born 1876, migrated to USA, was married to a Swedish man[2]
Holger and Brita lived as 'folgefolk' at Hauatreet cottage under Østenstad in their later years.[2]
He was recorded at at føderådshuset at Østenstad in the 1900 census as Holger Hansen.[3]
Holger passed away in 1902, Brita in 1929.[2]
