Sarah was born about 1832. [1] She was the daughter of Robert Happer (or Hopper), farmer, and lived at Drumshanbo, Kildress as of 1851.
On 10 April 1851 at Oritor Presbyterian, she married Henry Happer(25) of Drumshanbo, farmer, son of Henry Happer, farmer. Witnessed by William Black and George Hood(sp?) [2]
She was struck in the head by a rock after a wedding on 31 July 1855. This happened at a small stream in Tulnacross, Kildress. Her husband Henry was told she had been killed ; he rushed to the scene and got into a fight with the alleged rock-thrower, which ending in Henry's death. [3]
It is not clear from the reporting whether Sarah was actually killed -- however it appears that she wasn't , as on 20 January 1859 at Kildress Church of Ireland, a widow Sarah Happer of Drumshanbo, daughter of Robert Happer married Joseph Marshall of Dunmisk , son of James Marshall, farmer. [4]
Robert Dickson Hopper (abt.1794-1893) is the only Robert Hopper of Drumshanbo we currently have a profile for that might be her father -- but there could well have been other Robert Hoppers; insufficient evidence to make a connection at this stage.
Eliza Hopper (abt.1833-1875) also named father as Robert Hopper and place Drumshanbo.
No further record of this couple found after 1864 when they had a daughter at Drumshanbo. Maybe they emigrated.
