Douglas was born on 4 June 1893 [1] in New Zealand to Margaret Jane and George Hutchinson [2].
Son of G. H. and M. J. Harle, of 181, Burnett St., Ashburton, New Zealand. Born at Dunedin. LL.B. Barrister and Solicitor.
Douglas was awarded both a British War Medal (1914-1920) and a Victory Medal [1].
Douglas was killed in action on 4 October 1917 while serving in the NZ Army in World War I [1] [3][4]. He was buried at Dochy Farm New British Cemetery in Langemark-Poelkapelle, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
