Biography

Charity was born about 1606 in Holsworthy, Devon. She was the daughter of Richard Harris (alias Barber) ^[1]. Christening records from Holsworthy show that the family was sometimes known as Harris alias Barber and Harrison alias Barber.

In 1630, Charity had a child out of wedlock. The following year she married John Tawton/Towton, probably the father. ^[2]

Charity Harris married John Tawton in 1631.^[3]

1654/4 "the xxv day of May was buried Charity the wife of John Tawton."
