1860 U.S. Census Edward T Vincent (age 52) and his wife Sarah (age 47) were living in Madison County, Virginia with their children: Minerva S (age 22), Leverna (age 21), Edward M (age 19), Stephen O W (age 18), Althea M (age 15, misspelled Atha), Eliza J D (age 13), Athenasia (age 11), Joseph L W (age 9), and Jasper O (age 5). Also in the home is Rebecca J Alours (age 7) (relationship unknown). All were born in Virginia. Edward T. was a farmer. Sons Edward and Stephen were laborers. ^[4]

1870 U.S. Census Edward Vincent (age 62) and his wife Sarah (age 58) were living in Union Township, Marion County, West Virginia with their children: Charlotte (age 34), Minerva S (age 33), Leverna (age 31), Marion (age 30), Joseph L.W. (age 19), and Jasper O (age 15). Real Estate value: $2000; Personal property value:$500. Edward was a farmer; Marion was a blacksmith. Jasper was attending school. ^[5]

1880 U.S. Census Edward Vincent (age 71) and his wife Sarah (age 67) were living in Union Township, Marion County, West Virginia with their children: Charlotte (age 37), Laverna (age 36), and Jasper O (age 24). All were born in West Virginia. Edward is a farmer. Sarah is keeping house. ^[6]

Sarah Hartley Vincent passed away at age 85 on 6 Sep 1898 in Monongalia, West Virginia and is buried in E.T. Vincent Cemetery in Marion, West Virginia ^[9]
