8.1141 BYRON ELLIOT HARTWELL was born in Park City, Utah 30 June 1854 (HOA) and died 29 December 1931 (Gs: Salt Lake Cemetery). He married in Salt Lake City 18 January 1872, MARGARET JANE MULHOLLAND (Utah Supreme Court case 25:41), who was born in Ireland 24 July 1850 (HOA) and died in Salt Lake City 22 July 1921 (Gs: Salt Lake Cemetery), daughter of David and Susanna (Bailey) Mulholland.

On 2 July 1902, Byron filed for a divorce from Margaret on the basis of her cruelty to him, but the divorce was refused when Margaret’s reluctant testimony showed that Byron frequently struck her when he was intoxicated (Utah Supreme Court case 25:41). Byron “was a blacksmith in Park City, Utah”
