Biography

According to the History of Newbury, Vermont..., he was one of the first settlers of Newbury, Vermont arriving in 1762. He served in the French & Indian War. He live with his son David when he was old in West Newbury and probably died there. His wife's name was Sarah Beadle.

John Haseltine age 97 died at Newbury, Vermont on January 3, 1817, not sure if this is him, because the author of the book states the "Widow Sarah Haseltine" file for exemption from minister rates on January 23, 1797. Maybe this is his mother, who may also be named Sarah.

His children may or may not have been born in Newbury, VT, but their births are registered there.
