Be it remembered that on the twenty fifth day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty, Harrison Hatcher and Catharine Higens of the county afoursaid was duly joined in the bonds of matrimony by me.

Sale of Land by Harrison & Katharine Hatcher, 1840, County of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, inherited from the Estate of John Higgins
This Indenture made and entered into this 7th day of August AD, 1840 by and between Harrison Hatcher and Kathren Hatcher his wife of the County of Cape Girardeau and State of Missouri of the first part and Syres Henderson of the County and State aforesaid of the second part; witnesseth, that the said party of the first part and for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant, bargain and sell unto the said party of the second part and all the right, title, interest and claim of them the said party of the first part to the land of the estate of John Higgans deceased late of Cape Girardeau County...and it is further understood that when the said lands is put to sale there should not be the amount of fifty dollars coming out of such sale unto the party of the first part, then and in that case the first party is to make good the said sum to the party of the second part and if this should be more than the fifty dollars coming out of said sale to the party of the first part, the said party of the second part is to pay the overplus to the said party of the first part. In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals the day and date above written.

Personally appeared before me the undersigned Justice of Peace for and with the County and State aforesaid, the within named Harrison Hatcher, who acknowledges that he did voluntarily sign, seal and deliver the within instrument of writing for the purposes therein expressed. Also personally appeared before me Katharine Hatcher, wife of the said Harrison Hatcher and being examined separately and apart and from her said husband, acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be her voluntary act and deed and that she executed the same without the threats or persuasions of her husband and freely relinquished her right of dower to the premises within mentioned and desires, that the same may be admitted to record. I do certify, that the persons whose names are signed to the within instrument of writing are personally known to me and that they are the proper persons that made and executed the same. Given under my hand, this 19 day of August 1840. David C Hope, Justice of the Peace.
On the 25th day of October AD 1840, the foregoing deed was filed for record and recorded on the same day.

Thomas Howard VS Harrison Hatcher
Action of debt on a note drawn by Harrison Hatcher payable to plaintiff for the sum $5.04 drawn on or before the first day of August next dated March the 6th 1849 the defendent Harrison Hatcher personally appeared without prayer and acknowledge weighing himself indebted to the plaintiff in the sum of five dollars and twenty two cents. Therefore it is considered by the Court that the plaintiff, Thomas Howard, have and receive judgment against Harrison Hatcher by confession for the sum of five dollars and twenty one cents for his debt and damage and also for his cost taxed (?) given under my hand this 7th day of March 1846.

Adm. of Cape Girardeau County, Mo. and Ex-officio Admin. of the Estate of Harrison Hatcher, dec'd will offer for sale on the 24th May (1851) next at the residence of C A Harris in said County all the personal property belonging to said Estate, consisting of property belonging to said Estate, consisting of one wagon, two yoke of exen, one rifle gun, household and kitchen furniture, etc.
Terms...For all sums of three dollars and under...cash in hand and for all sums over three dollars, twelve months credit will be granted purchaser giving___________with approval security for the payment of the purchase money.
