Biography

The unnamed male infant was one of twin sons born to farmer John Hawthorne and his wife Rose Amberson.^[1] They were born in the townland of Meenan, in the parish of Aghaderg, Co Down.^[2]

There is some discrepancy in either the date of birth or the date of death as they were both recorded as 28 Jun 1894, but according to his death certificate the infant was 2 days old when he died of asthenia.^[3] Both the births and the death were registered by the twins' father on 13 July.

The unnamed twin was the elder, being born at 7am; his brother David was born at 11pm.
