Biography

Bert Haynes is an Anzac who served in World War Two.

Albert was born in 1906. He was the son of Thomas Haynes and Emma Barratt. He passed away in 1976.[1]

HAYNES— WEBB On Saturday evening at St. Mary's Anglican Church the Rev. R. Woodger celebrated the marriage of Albert Alexander, son of Mr. and Mrs. Haynes, of Kadina, to Emily Elizabeth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Webb, of Owen-terrace, Wallaroo. The bride, who entered the church escorted by her father, wore ivory crepe de chine, made with plain bodice, and two- tier flared skirt. The veil was arranged cap fashion, with coronet of orange blossom. Miss J. Webb (sister of the bride) was bridesmaid, and wore salmon pink georgette with plain bodice and two-tier flared skirt, with small tulle hat to match. The bride was also attended by a flower girl. Barbara Chenoweth, in blue crepe de chine, with frilled skirt and tulle cap to match. She carried a basket of pink flowers. The bride's bouquet was of white, and the bridesmaid's of pink roses. The bride groom was attended by his brother (Mr. S. Haynes). The wedding breakfast was held at the residence of the bride's parents.[2]

A Fractured Arm—Mr A. A. Haynes a dairyman of Kadina, met with a very painful accident on Wednesday last week. While putting the cows into their bails ready for milking, two cows began fighting. In preventing the larger cow from injuring the smaller the small one rushed out of the hail and crushed Mr Haynes' fore-arm against a post. On medical examination it was found that he had sustained a fracture of the right radial bone. The accident has happened in a very inopportune time, as one of Mr Haynes' dairymen has gone into camp, thus making him short-handed.[3]

Change of Business.—Mr A. A. Haynes, Kadina, has sold his dairying business. He has been dairying for eleven years, and recently bought Mr F Hammond's business. Mr. Haynes entered into partnership with Haynes Bros., builders, Whyalla.[4]
