Biography

David was born in North Adelaide, South Australia during 1920. He is the son of Edwyn Hayward and Eileen Frances Russell. He passed away in Lasham, Hampshire during 1945.

David was born in North Adelaide, South Australia on 7 June 1920.[1] The following birth notice was published in the South Australian newspaper, The Journal, on 19 June 1920:[2]

HAYWARD.—On the 7th June, at Konetta, to Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Hayward, of 84 Strangways terrace, North Adelaide—a son.

David died in Lasham, Hampshire, England on 21 April 1945 at the age of 24 years.[3] The following death notice was published in the South Australian newspaper, The Advertiser, on 26 April 1945:[4]

HAYWARD. —On April 21, David Russell Hayward, R.N.(sic), Fleet Air Arm (sic), killed on service, son of Mrs. Ellen Hayward and the late Colonel E. W. Hayward, C.B.E. (By cable.)

David was buried at the Maidenhead (All Saints) Cemetery in Berkshire, England, United Kingdom.[3]
