Biography

William Hayworth was born on 8 August 1861 and was the son of William Hayworth and Janet Taylor.^[1] He married Jane Ann Proctor Asher in Elgin on 28 July 1886 and they had six children.^[2] William died in Ayr, aged 74 years, on 6 February 1936.^[3]

First World War

William and Jane lost two of their sons, a month apart, when they were killed in action in 1917.
